Deploy on Android with an MDM
Android Enterprise MDMs (Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, Google endpoint management, the Sunmi and PAX device managers…) can install JodaPrint and activate it with managed configuration, with nobody touching the device.
1. Add the app
Add JodaPrint (io.jodaprint.agent) as a managed app: from the store your MDM uses, or upload the APK from Dashboard → Downloads as a private app.
2. Managed configuration
| Key | Value |
|---|---|
activation_code | A multi-use activation code from Devices → Add device. The device activates on its own. |
shell_url | The web app the WebView shell opens, used when the device config sets none |
cloud_url | Only for a self-hosted cloud (https) |
3. Permissions and kiosk
- Grant the notification permission and, for Bluetooth printers, "Nearby devices" by policy when your MDM supports runtime permission policies.
- Exempt JodaPrint from battery optimization.
- For a kiosk, set JodaPrint as the kiosk (lock task) app and set
android.shell.autoStartin the device config. - When JodaPrint is the device owner, agent updates from a sideloaded APK install silently.
Check
Activated devices appear under Dashboard → Devices in the group of the activation code.
